Directorate Crime Intelligence Resumes Operation Against Civilans With Authority Attires

Uganda Directorate of crime intelligence (DCI) have started operations against civilans who sell or wear milltary attires the areas of Kampala Metropolitan.

A number of security teams are going through Suburb areas arresting however selling or wearing army attires and other related uniforms..

Uganda People's Defence Force states that Public should not sell or wear any related authority attires. The colours of Uganda's authority attires are Khaki,Navy blue,camoflage patterns,Army green and Red.

Spokesperson Metropolitan police Patrick Onyango says that civilans should voluntarily take Milltary attires to near by police stations.

However, Metropolitan police spokesperson says army attires like shoes,Jackets,capes and belts is the reason to why they are arresting some civilans.

The head of Directorate of crime intelligence (DCI) Brig.Gen.Chris Damulira says that there are many cases concerning robbers who are targeting mobile money agents by wearing attires.

Some months ago, several police officers, private security guards and mobile money agents have been killed by robbers in army attires in areas like Mubende,Mutundwe, Kasanda and Nsangi.

However,Deputy Spokesperson of Uganda People's Defence Force Col.Deo Akiiki says that there are some cases where civilans put army attires in Co-driver seat and they threaten traffic officers and other road users.

Doctorate of Crime intelligence warns civilans about the ongoing operation and that however will be found selling or wearing authority attires,is to be arrested and charged.

He advised civilans to stop wearing and selling police attires instead they should take them to the nearest police stations.They shouldn't be tempted to sell or wear army attires.
